#INSPIRATIONSERIES: AYRTON SENNA

WHAAAT? Formula 1? Car racer Yup, that’s right, no fashion, no beauty this time – only hardcore! Kidding :D

With this Ayrton Senna illustration  I am kicking off #inspirationseries,  a series of illustrations, where I will tell you about my heroes, people who inspire me,  people who get me going. They are not from fashion, but they reflect my versatile personality: I have many interests in my life and I admire people  from different spheres.

I got to know Ayrton Senna  three years ago thanks to my friend (who is a huge fan of Ayrton and F1), back then he showed me Ayrton’s quote:

“On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, ‘Okay, this is the limit.’ As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high”, –

and from that day it became my everyday motto – going beyond, going for the limit.  When I feel I “can go a little bit further”, something inside myself explodes, it’s like a huge fountain of energy and it really makes me fly very high!

A little bit on a biography note. Ayrton Senna,  Brazilian by origin, was one of the greatest Formula 1  racers, he won 3 World Championships and 41 races.  He died tragically at the age of 34 in a race on one of his favourite tracks at San Marino Gran Prix  in Italy. But he is still praised and remembered:  for his victories,  strong and stubborn character,  for his endless desire to win.  I recall Ayrton in the moments I need help or additional boost, in the moments I feel I have nowhere to go, and then I feel I need to live every day of my life like if it were the only one I have.

I really love this new illustration! It’s very unusual to see a fashion illustrator draw a Formula 1 pilot. Great job, keep on :)
